HONOLULU — Saint Louis captured the inaugural Open Division title on Saturday night, knocking off Kahuku 30-14.

The Crusaders were down 14-13 at half, but reeled off 17 unanswered points in the second half for the historic victory. The win was the first state title for Saint Louis since 2011, back when Marcus Mariota was the quarterback.

Top recruit Tua Tagovailoa led the way for the Crusaders, throwing for 246 yards and 1 touchdown, while adding 137 and another score on the ground. Saint Louis outgained Kahuku 472-257 in total yardage.

The Red Raiders, who defeated the Crusaders 39-14 in last year’s DI title game, didn’t complete pass in the contest.

In the Division I title game on Friday, Mililani claimed the crown, downing Iolani 31-20.

Lahainaluna — which defeated Konawaena last week in the semifinals — took down Kapaa for the DII title 21-14.
